Earth Hour

Yesterday we participated in Earth Hour and turned off lights and appliances between 8 and 9pm. All in all I think lots of people participated and it went well. Lucas was not very impressed with this bath by candlelight and at one point even said "Please turn the light on". But enjoyed cranking the flashlight to read books by and even wanted to do it this morning. Part of me found it easy to not use lights for the hour and another part wondered what I was going to do. Basically I spent my non Lucas time reading by candlelight. I am reading a great book. Eat, Love, Pray. But if I didn't have light/candle I don't know what I would have done.

What about you guys... did you participate? What did you do in the dark for an hour?

Till Tomorrow

We were out taking Mackenzie and her friend to the movies. London, Ontario's participation was dismal at best. Only a 2% reduction in energy usage compared to 8.7% in Toronto and 5% province wide.

Maybe City Council will do a better job promoting it next year. I only heard about it the day before the event.
