True Cuddles: New Cool Find

I was reading a blog on my feed reader Modeco kids and they recommend a new baby and toddler site called True Cuddles. Every Monday they send you an e-mail with a great deal for that week that is only available till it's sold out. Last week I got a cute shirt for Nathan for 10 dollars and shipping was free. Coincidentally they are based right here is Calgary about 5 minutes from my house. So if you have a baby or toddler you may want to sign up.

Online Shopping

The poster came today that I had ordered from Etsy and it is beautiful. Here's the link to her store I love Etsy and it's ability to buy things to go on your wall that don't come from Pier One. Not that I don't like Pier One, but it's nice to have more options and find things that feel more like my style, rather then the trend of the season.

I also have been dying for some new sandals. One of my favorite Walmart pairs is getting so thin I was worried my toes were going to go through the soles. So I did some online shopping, which I don't normally do for shoes and found Zappos. I went to the sale section (which I would usually do in a store) and found some fantastic deals.

Teva's (super comfortable) been wearing them since they came. 19.95

Kangaroos, super cute, makes my feet look small, $28.17

And these, which I'm a little more "meh" on. But they are made out of recycled material. Gotta love that. And they are comfortable Teva's as well. 19.95 as well.

I love good deals and getting packages in the mail. Although the waiting kills me....

Smorgy

I haven't really posted in a couple of days, so I feel the need for a round up of the last couple of days.

Lucas had his last gymnastics class this week. We have been going to gymnastics for the last couple of months and Lucas has quite enjoyed himself. It's been a great way to tire him out. He has jumped on trampolines, done flips over bars (with help), mastered the summersault and enjoyed running around.

I also went to another stamping class where I got to be crafty again, which I do love. Look what I made! You may think I'm talented, but it's really all the teacher.

Preparations are still underway for the babies room. We bought a chair from Canadian Tire, leather recyliner for 215$. It was a great deal. Plus it's nice to have a chair in the nursery, and this one should last a while.

Just finished watching Lost. Man I love that show. It answers questions in each episode, but always asks more. Will the questions ever be answered?? I really should stop watching Lost because I'm dreaming about it. But I'll post more on that, and my crazy dreams tomorrow.

I have to go to the doctor who is going to deliver the baby. I'm not to fond of this process as there is a 1 in 8 chance she'll be the one to deliver the baby. Plus I sit there for half and hour for her to measure me and listen to the heartbeat. That being said I do have a question for all the women out there. What is the best way to pee in a cup. Start to pee and put the cup in midstream, try to position it, then start peeing? What's your technique?

Etsy- My New Love

Around Christmas time I started to do a little online shopping. Generally I'm not a big fan of it. I like to try things on I like the experience of shopping, my own time, getting away. But lately as I have been digging more online I have been finding lots of unique things. Plus my retail therapy has not been clothing, as my big belly is not condusive to it. My favorite website has been Etsy. It's a place to buy and sell things homemade.

Here are two of the things I have bought for myself. First is the gargoyle pendant. I love Paris and Darryl and I both have a fondness for gargoyles. It is really good quality as well. Also in this picture is one of my favorite Etsy stores, Down to the Wire Designs. I've bought two things from him already. One of my favorite things is the clasps. But also really beautiful stuff.

I also found this great bag for Lucas at Etsy. It's perfect for what he loves. We use it for quite alot too. Plus bags for a couple of dollars. Such a deal.

Check it out. There are tons of great ways to look for stuff.

Christmas Shopping

Today I got the majority of my Christmas shopping done. Even some stocking stuffers. I do love giving presents so enjoying looking for good presents for everyone. The other part that was good today was it was a Thursday and so the malls and other stores weren't so bad.

I generally don't buy too much for Lucas for Christmas. Santa will bring him a couple of gifts, but everyone else buys him stuff, so I save my spending for kids who need it or other times of the year for Lucas. I do seem to give him gifts most of the year, so I don't really worry about Christmas. The other thing is everything goes on sale after Christmas so I like to wait till then. Let's make Christmas about trees and lights, music and family, good food and cookies. Not presents.

It was a funny experience for me today. I started at Toys R Us and was more concerned about getting a good deal then getting "stuff" whereas by the end I was buying whatever I could find. But I do feel like I got alot of gifts people will really like. Plus I'll make everyone turkey, so they can't complain about that. =)

HIghlights of the Birthday Weekend

Although the weekend is not complete yet and I will be enjoying my favorite dinner at mom and dad's house it has been a fun birthday weekend extravaganza. Lucas now loves to say the word extravaganza. Yesterday we cleaned and cleaned because we had a couple of house showings (although no offers) and then I headed out shopping. After getting home Darryl and I dropped Lucas off at our friends house and we went to Red Lobster for a feast. This morning I went for my pedicure, present from Darryl and Lucas

and now I am reading a new book, present from Tammy. But one of the best things that happened this weekend is I got this great deal on a shirt from Old Navy. I love to get a good deal. I even bought the shirt in two different colors becuase it was such a good deal. Can you guess how much?

Second Hand Stuff

One of the things I have embraced with having Lucas is buying things second hand. Kids grow so quickly that it is crazy to spend alot of money on them. We have a great second hand store close to us called Huckleberry Kids. The other great thing about second hand stores is they have cheap toys. Now I know Lucas has so many toys, but when cars are a couple of dollars it seems worth it. Today we headed over to the second hand store and got a cute touque (like a winter hat for the non Canadians), and a trendy little pair of shorts for next summer. We also bought these squeaky shoes so that every time he takes a step his shoes squeak. I did take a great video of this but am having trouble with my imovie, so if anyone is an imovie expert, please help. We also picked up some books. All of these things for 22$. Amazing.

Yeah for the second hand stuff!

Till Monday
