Things are Looking Up...

Well after the snow has fallen for the past 4 days straight it will probably stop in the next 12 hours or so. Emma is do looking forward to the snow stopping so that she doesn't get frostbite on her bum. She can't even squat to pee without her bum being totally immersed in the snow.

Lucas is feeling much better today. It's amazing how he is a totally different kid when he is feeling better. We've had a really fun day. Lots of laughing, although also some crying. He is very into throwing things. I'm not 100% sure how to disiplince a 18 month old. So far I'm sternly (sometimes yelling) " NO THROWING", and take whatever he threw away from him. This makes him cry till I distract him with something else. Part of the problem may be he woke up at 5:30 this morning, so it may be some fussiness as well.

Here are some funny pictures of Lucas eating. We've moved Lucas from his highchair to a booster seat. It's weird to sit across from him while eating. It's also funny to watch his eating habits. He really likes to dip food, so ketchup and sour cream meals are his favorite. He also like to add everything to one dish. As you can see from the pic's above he is adding a can of peaches to his alphagetti. He quite liked the combination.

Till tomorrow

Ahh..Lucas is back! Don't get me wrong...I love the Barenaked Ladies and I'm SOOOO excited to see them in concert in 2 more sleeps but I missed seeing the adventures (and sometimes misadventures) of my adorable nephew for a week!
Who can resist such a cute toddler lathered up with peaches and alphaghetti?! Maybe he's destined to be a chef and this is his first attempt at mixing sweet and savoury flavours...or maybe he's just a one year old having a great time playing in his food. Either way...I can't resist him!

Love,
Aunt Lori

It's a shame that Emma doesn't like the snow. I hope things ease off for her soon.
Hunter and Casey LOVE IT! Half the time I can't get them to come inside and when they do, it's only long enough to dry off so they can go out and play again.
Any amount of snow means Hunter is buried in it since his legs are only 4 inches long (for everyone who doesn't know...Hunter is a blonde, long-haired weiner dog...picture a golden retriever in a weiner dog body) but he thinks it's grrreat! He and Casey (our 10 year old Sheltie-poodle cross) chase each other all around the yard, they eat the snow, they root in the snow with their noses to get to all of the smells worth tracking underneath and they roll around in it like they're making snow angels. It's funny to watch.

Emma does like to play in the snow, as long as it's not -20 outside =). It's going to be 10 degrees here over the next couple of days so I'm sure we'll be outside enjoying it then.
