Christmas in 2006

I read an article the other day that was talking about kids growing up in a day in age where you turn on the webcam on Christmas morning. So yesterday we had Christmas with our far away Ontario family on video conference. SO tell me far way family what was your favorite part?

Mine was when I would ask Lucas to do something, as he is my circus monkey, and he would shake his head no. Amazing to see him get personality and opionins. He is smarter then the dog..... who continues to be my circus monkey.

Till Tommorrow

Favourite part? Hmmm...I don't think I can narrow it down to just one. I love the fact that Lucas knows who the people are on Mommy's computer and he interacts with us. He brings his toys to the computer to show us and even "rubbed noses" with Grammy from hundreds (thousands?) of kilometres away! I love that we were able to create the same colossal mess in your living room as we always have in our living room on Christmas morning even though we were sitting at our computer in Ontario! (Thank goodness for UPS!!!) I loved being able to tease my brother as he assembled toy after toy. I loved that my nephew is so smart and inquisitive. Most 1 year olds have barely figured out how to pull the paper off of a gift but Lucas not only knows how to plow through opening them, but it only took him an instant to explore the new toys and he had already figured out where all the sound effect buttons were and how to make all of the parts move! He astonishes me more and more every day...I love him (and his parents) to bits! Can't wait to have you all home again in July!

Have a VERY Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year!

Love always,
Lori

My favourite part is being able to interact with my grandson from miles away, and having him rub noses with me on screen. Watching him be his own little buzy beaver and almost seeing his little wheels turn in his head as he figures out his new toys so quickly, and what to do with them. Thanks mom and dad for shopping for us, so we can watch him open our gifts and enjoy them right away.
Thank heaven for technology, and even grandad and I have come into the twentieth century with a digital camera as a Christmas Gift. Look out, someday we too will be able to forward pictures to you. I know old folks and technology is a scary thing, but be patient please.
So keep those pictures coming and we will keep video conferencing to watch our grandson grow and learn, and love him more every day.
