I'm never going to accomplish or master things as quickly as I would ideally like to because let's face it...life is BUSY! However, that doesn't mean that progress isn't being made.

Last year I discovered the concept of defining your year with a word instead of resolutions. In 2016, I chose the word RESTORE. I was going back to work and wanted to restore some of the old good habits that I used to maintain. Things like balancing the books more often, keeping my spending in check, working in the yard regularly, meal planning and cooking. I made great strides in these areas in 2016 and it helped to bring back bits of the person I used to be which helped me to feel a bit more like my old self again.

It was tempting to choose simplify this year but it was well...too simple. Instead, after painstaking deliberation I chose FINE TUNE for this year. While simplifying and scaling down my life to the things that matter the most or that bring me the most joy will certainly be a focus, I started this in 2016. So...this year I'll be focusing on fine tuning my progress in an effort to carve out more time for relaxation and experiences.

Happy New Year to you, the boys and the kitties!

Love,
LoriLori Aitkenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15873626036472102998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20039585.post-77228406118636891642017-01-04T06:28:40.619-07:002017-01-04T06:28:40.619-07:00I love your 2nd resolution :). I would love to hea...I love your 2nd resolution :). I would love to hear more about you and your family.

as for your first resolution: since one year I now blog once a month my blessings as you just read this week. In order to make my monthly post, I note down right away when I feel happy, greatfull...about something, when I enjoy seeing something beautiful etc. In doing so explicitly, it strenghtens my focus on all good things in my life. And no surprise, they are never material but focus on relationships, empathy, ...

Happy New Year to you! Goofballhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11155032632164828945noreply@blogger.com
